ASD is a defect in interatrial septum which allow communication between right and left atrial chambers ( low pressure chamber) and causes increased lung blood flow leads to increased chances of pneumonia, arrhythmia, and tiredness and eisenminger (irreversible stage) so it is mandatory to close either by device or surgicaly unless it is very small.
